Hi John,

I’m visiting San Diego next week and was wondering where I can do dancing or take some salsa/chacha classes? I’ve been dancing for a few years already and looking to improve :)

Any suggestions?

I love the article on the “art of small space salsa dancing.” An additional comment that I would like to add is that the ladies ABSOLUTELY love it when a guy is aware of the ever-changing space he has to work with. I realize that this can be a challenge, but boy is is nice to end a dance without any new bruises and cuts.

I am teaching a class and would like to involve a man in a wheelchair. He will be the only disabled person there. I’ve never taught this before. Any ideas on how to make it work/teach?

Hi,
Many thanks for promoting wheelchair dancing for the disabled community of San Diego. I am a wheelchair user and a student of William Valencia, Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor. Learning the cha cha, rumba and waltz in a wheelchair is a dream come true for me. I am again dancing to music, this time in a wheelchair.
It’s the greatest exercise and pleasure for the mind and body.

I only just read this part. Great job teaching defensive dancing in clubs . . . I think everybody that teaches should include this.
