Hello Everyone! San Diego’s own Deseo Dance company is expanding to include a new focus on samba dance. Serena Cuevas joined forces with Melanie Riveira to bring to San Diego some of the best Samba dancing to be found in America’s finest City.
Here is a short intro video to the recent changes with Deseo Dance and auditions for the new teams if you are interested:
Good luck to all of you auditioning for this great dance organization!
For the first time in San Diego salsa sensation Jerry Rivera will be performing live at the Blue Agave Nightclub! Rivera, a Grammy Award and Grammy award nominated Puerto Rican Salsa Sonero, will be singing a number of his hit songs including some in these videos below:
The 4th Annual San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival is now in the history books and if you are like me your legs are still recovering from all the dancing (and you are catching up on lost sleep!). I want to take the opportunity to thank Angel and Tulane, Albert Torres, and the whole San Diego Salsa/Latin dance community for honoring not just Ritmo Bello but also Dan Delino and Tommy Rosas.
I received some emails and twitter messages asking me what the award I received looked like so I posted it here for you to check out.
Congratulations to all the dance show participants, especially the local dance studios, who went above and beyond to show San Diego’s true dance talent.
This is a quick video of the legendary Septeto Nacional as they performed live here in San Diego. They are a great example of Cuban Son, hope you enjoy.
Just a quick update. The organizers for the San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival released a revised schedule of events and I’ve posted it above in this post. You’ll notice that there is now the addition of Adam Taub’s documentary “El Duque De La Bachata” which will screen on Saturday night for attendees to enjoy. If you haven’t heard about the film it is a great behind the scenes look at the life of up and coming Bachata music artist Joan Soriano. To see this new schedule of events and other important information please check the official San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival website.
It’s hard to believe but the San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival is this week and I wanted to share with you the schedule of events. As you may know the festival runs this Thursday September 16th through Sunday September 19th. As you’ll see below there is not only social dancing but plenty of shows, workshops and even a pool party to take advantage of this week. If anyone has any questions you can find out more information on the San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival website or feel free to contact me via email or on twitter @RitmoBello.
See you all at the San Diego Salsa Bachata Festival!
If you haven’t bought your passes for the event there is a great opportunity to get in for free in exchange for volunteering at the event. Below is the email from the event organizers concerning the offer and how to take advantage of it.
