Brazilian Carnaval is coming to San Diego on September 3rd in the form of Sabor on the Bay, the ever growing Yacht party hosted by Alma Marketing Group. Formerly Sevilla on the Bay, this new iteration of the same great Latin themed party is sure to be a fun night. Some highlights of the Yacht experience will include 3 floors of music (Live Salsa Band, Top 40 DJ’s & Live Brazilian Trio), 1,000 capacity luxury yacht, 5 fully-stocked bars, 1 Massive Outdoor deck w/ Cigar Lounge sponsored by Excalibur Cigars and of course salsa lessons by A Time to Dance Studio. To see a glimpse of what your night will be like check out this video of the last yacht party:
Although Cafe Sevilla is still not open in their new Fifth Avenue location, the club is keeping their beat alive through their popular yacht party. It’s the return of the biggest boat party in America & they are kicking off the summer right during Memorial Day weekend.
The 3rd annual “dress in white” party will feature a 3 hour cruise showcasing breathtaking views of San Diego Harbor by night and more importantly great LIVE dance music for salsa and Latin dancers to enjoy. There will be 3 floors of music (Live Salsa Band, Top 40 DJ’s & Live Flamenco Guitarists), room for 1,000 people on the luxury yacht, 5 fully stocked bars, and1 Massive Outdoor deck with a Cigar Lounge sponsored by Excalibur Cigars.
Angel and Tulane from A Time to Dance Studio will be offering salsa lessons at the event and the headlining act will be Son Mayor, an LA band that plays with a high energy style of Salsa popular in Southern California venues like The Mayan, Steven’s Steakhouse & The Hollywood Bowl.
THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT- Purchase your tickets early!!! Also don’t forget that this is a Dress in All White party. You don’t have to wear white by why would you want to stand out as the only person on the boat not wearing white? If white isn’t your color just try to find something white like a skirt, tie, shoes, hat, etc.
Café Sevilla and Alma Marketing are once again hosting a yacht party here in San Diego but this one is sure to top all the ones we’ve seen in the past! Rumor has it that Sevilla on the Bay may break some records this time around and it will be sure to be a great time during this 3 hour cruise.
The theme for this party is a dress in all white, Caribbean style (yes this means you should wear all white lest you stand out for the wrong reasons). As we’ve seen in the past, this yacht party will feature 3 floors of music including Johnny Polanco y Su Conjunto Amistad (a live salsa band), hip hop, and Danos Island Sounds (a Caribbean Steel Drum band). I interviewed Johnny Polanco on Ritmo Bello last year and you can learn more about him in that interview (he is a great stand up guy).
For those of you that attended past yacht parties hosted by Café Sevilla, you know that the event is a fun mix of salsa dancing, hip hop, top 40, and live music. I’ve included some videos below for everyone else to be able to get a preview of the Sevilla on the Bay yacht party and why you should not miss this event:
Cafe Sevilla and Alma Marketing are bringing to San Diego an event that cannot be missed! Sevilla on the Bay will feature a Black and Red themed yacht party on the Inspiration, the Hornblower’s largest ship.
For those of you that attended past yacht parties hosted by Cafe Sevilla, you know that the event is a fun mix of salsa dancing, hip hop, top 40, and even Spanish guitar playing. I’ve included some videos below for everyone else to be able to get a preview of the Sevilla on the Bay yacht party and why you should not miss this event:
As part of this 23 year celebration of Cafe Sevilla the event will feature the great musical talent of Angel Lebron y Su Sabor Latino (check out the recent Ritmo Bello interview of Angel Lebron, he is a great guy). There will also be DJ Mambo and Malamaña (see and hear their great Spanish guitar skills in the video below):
Lastly, don’t forget that I will most likely be shooting video there and I’m still trying to raise funds to upgrade our videos to HD quality. I’ve included the donation widget below and we appreciate any help you can give! (You can click here to find out more information about this fundraiser).
See you all at the Cafe Sevilla on the Bay Red & Black Summer Party!
With the summer of 2009 almost over, Café Sevilla is taking the opportunity to host another “Sevilla on the Bay” Yacht party!
For everyone that went to the first Café Sevilla boat party earlier this summer, you know that the event draws a large group of people ready to party. This time Café Sevilla is doing some different things that are important to note.
First, Café Sevilla has secured a larger yacht called the “Inspiration” that holds 1,000 people and is 30,000 square feet. Secondly, the party will have an “All White Party” theme where everyone is encouraged to wear any white pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, etc in celebration of the end of summer 2009.
There will be 3 floors of music ranging from a live Salsa band, hip hop, and live Spanish guitarists. Along with the music there will be free salsa dance lessons, photographers, and a special cigar lounge sponsored by Excalibur Cigars.
Along with all these attractions Café Sevilla is also hosting complimentary tapas and providing 5 fully stocked bars for your enjoyment.
Cafe Sevilla is one of the best places to dance salsa here in San Diego. Over the years the venue has done a great job of providing a quality nightclub experience to those looking for salsa in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Well, our favorite venue is celebrating 22 years of great memories on June 26th and they’ve decided to go all out for the occasion!
Cafe Sevilla, both the nightclub and restaurant, are hosting a special evening to commemorate their 22 years of bringing quality entertainment to San Diego. The event will feature a boat gala on a Lord Hornblower Yacht with capacity for up to 500 people. Cafe Sevilla will be hosting different areas of music on the yacht including a special area for those who want to dance to salsa and other Latin dances.
The San Diego Salsa and Latin Dancing Meetup Group will be in attendance at this event and we’ve set up a special RSVP page for those interested in coming with the group. Here is the link where you can find out more information about the boat gala:
