Grupo Niche, one of the most celebrated and well known salsa bands in the world, is coming to San Diego once again courtesy of Blue Agave Nightclub.  The famous group is known for its hits over the years with songs like “Gotas de Lluvia” and “Cali Pachanguero” that serve as salsa dance staples at many nightclubs in the world.

Grupo Niche, one of Colombia’s premiere salsa bands, is once again returning to San Diego in June and will be playing live in concert at Blue Agave Nightclub.  The group is well known for its high energy salsa music and engaging live performances. The two videos below show a glimpse of them performing at Blue Agave Nightclub the last time they visited San Diego:

The concert is on Friday June 24th and tickets can be purchased online at TicketMaster or at the door at the club.

Blue Agave Nightclub here in San Diego has done a stellar job of bringing to America’s Finest City the best in contemporary salsa music.  They continue that tradition by bringing to San Diego salsa dancers the one and only Grupo Niche.

Coming direct from Colombia, South America the group is well known throughout the world for some of the best and widely popular salsa songs out there today.  Chances are that if you are dancing to a salsa song at a club here in San Diego you are dancing to one of their classic songs.

I have some great news to share with all of you in San Diego!  Blue Agave Nightclub, the group that recently brought us the Gilberto Santa Rosa & Victor Manuelle concert, is bringing to us here in San Diego another great concert.  This time we are lucky to have two well known salsa groups together in concert for one night only here in San Diego, Grupo Niche and Oscar D’Leon!

Direct from Colombia is Grupo Niche, a well known and established salsa band that for years has entertained the world with its unique style of Colombian salsa music.  Grupo Niche is world renowned for it high tempo, energetic dance music along with a number of slower paced romantic songs.  Many of the songs created by the group over the years are now considered salsa classics and are regularly heard in the salsa clubs around the world.  As a Colombian American, I take great pride in the work and impact Grupo Niche has had on salsa music.  I included a video from one of their past concerts so you could get a sense of what their unique salsa sounds like.

Oscar D’Leon, the other headliner for the concert, comes direct from Venezuela and brings with him a different yet equally uptempo style of salsa music.  I’ve been to Oscar D’Leon’s concerts in the past and I can tell you that he is truly a master “sonero” and is known worldwide for his great singing voice.  Like Grupo Niche, many of Oscar D’Leon’s songs are now considered salsa classics and the concert will present a unique opportunity to listen to him live.  This second video shows a glimpse of what you can expect from this great salsa music artist.

It was a busy weekend for San Diego dancers and music lovers as both the San Diego Salsa Festival and Street Scene took place this last weekend. Both events had tons of performers and it would be great to hear from reader’s out there that attended both about your experiences.
