The San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival is about a month away and there are some important updates recently released related to the event that you should know about.
The official band of the San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival is Tarzana, a 10 piece band with music that harks back to the 1950’s and 1960’s era bands. If you haven’t heard their music here is a video showing their talent:
Along with this announcement is an updated list of the many instructors that will be teaching workshops and lessons throughout the whole event. Many well known names including San Diego’s David and Jennifer Stein and Alejandra Quintero will be hosting all sorts of instructions for those eager to learn. The group is made of 22 other organizers that include well known people here in San Diego such as David Stein of Majesty in Motion, Susie Nguyen Grafte from Ooh La La Dance company, Walter Meneses from Dancing After School, Gaby from Alma Latina and Serena Cuevas. The local Tango dance community is represented as well with organizer like Krista Ann and Tino. The events found on the calendar are truly crowd sourced content from those who know what is going on here in San Diego regarding dance.
The great thing about the group is that we are open to others from the community who want to help fill the calendar with fun events and socials any day of the week. If you are interested in becoming an event organizer send me a message.

The San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival is months away but it’s not too early to save on passes if you already planning on going. The all event passes are only $119 (and usually go up in price) and will give you access to all the workshops, dance shows and great social dance socials where you can meet people from all over the world.
We are less than a few weeks away from the upcoming San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival and more information is now available for the event. Below is an updated schedule of events that you can refer to throughout the event. Don’t forget that the entire event is full of dance workshops, lessons, performances by some of the most gifted dancers in the world and of course great social dancing available for you to take part in.
Kizomba dance is uniquely African and has its origins in the music of the Angolan people. Described as a very sensual dance similar to bachata and merengue, it is distinct in its African rhythm that sets it apart from the traditional latin music in the dance scene. During the San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival you can have an opportunity to learn from master Kizomba instructor Lucia Nogueira in one of the many workshops to be held over the course of the Labor Day Weekend. The San Diego Salsa Bachata Kizomba Festival is August 28th through the 31st during Labor Day Weekend and you can still secure your tickets before it sells out on the official website for the event.
