Goodbye 2008! Hello 2009! It’s hard to believe another year has passed us by and with it many so many memories have been built up as well. As we reach the end of this year our thoughts turn to Christmas celebrations and of course the New Year’s celebrations around San Diego.
With so many options available for dancing salsa here in San Diego for the New Year, I wanted to focus on one celebration that will be going on. Valerie and David of SalsaCa.com, longtime friends and supporters of Ritmo Bello, are hosting their 10th Annual New Year’s Eve Party at the Mission Valley Resort. What’s different about this event is that they are offering an option for a “Mini Vacation Package” at the hotel. There is a check in at 3:00pm and the idea is to take advantage of what the hotel has to offer including free access to Frog’s Gym, 3 heated swimming pools, spa services, and shuffle board (if you are into that). Why not take out the stress of drinking and making it back safely to your home by staying the night at the hotel?
For those of you inclined to party and return home that night, the New Year’s Eve “con salsa” party begins at 8:00pm. VIP tables are available for a fee and a free salsa lesion is included by Valerie & David beginning at 8:15pm.
The salsa dancing begins shortly after when DJ’s “New Yo Rican” David Garcia & David Suave take the turn tables.
Around 9:15pm, Charlie Chavez & his All Star Orchestra takes the stage in a live salsa performance. Siempre Salsa’s Midnight celebration includes hats, noise makers, and a complimentary champagne toast.
After the celebration there will be a light late night buffet which includes coffee and tea service.
Tickets are $45.00 in advance and $55.00 day of the event.
