San Diego Salsa & Latin Dancing Meetup Group Enters a New Era

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

This month marked a major change in the San Diego Salsa & Latin Dancing Meetup Group as I formally stepped down as the main organizer for the group. Over the course of a number of years I helped to spread the word about Latin dancing of all types here in San Diego and had a great time doing so in the process.

The new person at the helm of the group is San Diego’s Salsa Susie from Ooh La La Dance. A great promoter of San Diego’s local dance scene, she’s already brought back many former members to the group and is expanding it past the 3,500 member mark for the first time.

If you are unfamiliar with the San Diego Salsa & Latin Dancing Meetup Group or have been away for a while I encourage you to check it out anew to find out all the great events San Diego has to offer.

I am still serving as an Assistant Organizer for the group so if you have any questions or comments on how we can improve the Meetup please let me know.

See you all on the dance floor!

John ;-)

Visiting or New to San Diego and Want to Dance? Check these Resources First…

Saturday, March 3, 2018

If you are new to San Diego either as a traveler or as a new transplant to the area it pays to do some research on the local dance scene.  This is especially true as new venues pop up and include dance studios where you can both practice and engage in social dancing.

A good place to start is by reviewing our list of clubs and venues on RitmoBello.com.  The list is updated regularly and I rely on the local community to let me know if information needs changing so it should be pretty accurate.  For you locals who see any venues missing or needing updating please don’t hesitate to let me know and I can make those changes quickly.

Another resource that can help is the San Diego Salsa and Latin Dancing Meetup Group.  The group is a 3,000 plus member driven group that regularly updates events each month where you can learn , dance and improve your salsa dancing skills.  Similar to my clubs list I rely on the local dance studios, instructors, club owners and interested dancers to list events each month that are relevant and exciting for the local dance scene to experience.  You can view the calendar here and joining is always free (even for those visiting).

Lastly, check out our local webcam that gives you a quick beach view from San Diego and could serve to get you off the fence about visiting America’s Finest City.

See you all on the dance floor!
