Visiting or New to San Diego and Want to Dance? Check these Resources First…

Saturday, March 3, 2018

If you are new to San Diego either as a traveler or as a new transplant to the area it pays to do some research on the local dance scene.  This is especially true as new venues pop up and include dance studios where you can both practice and engage in social dancing.

A good place to start is by reviewing our list of clubs and venues on  The list is updated regularly and I rely on the local community to let me know if information needs changing so it should be pretty accurate.  For you locals who see any venues missing or needing updating please don’t hesitate to let me know and I can make those changes quickly.

Another resource that can help is the San Diego Salsa and Latin Dancing Meetup Group.  The group is a 3,000 plus member driven group that regularly updates events each month where you can learn , dance and improve your salsa dancing skills.  Similar to my clubs list I rely on the local dance studios, instructors, club owners and interested dancers to list events each month that are relevant and exciting for the local dance scene to experience.  You can view the calendar here and joining is always free (even for those visiting).

Lastly, check out our local webcam that gives you a quick beach view from San Diego and could serve to get you off the fence about visiting America’s Finest City.

See you all on the dance floor!

Don’t Miss May “Cinco de Mayo” Edition of 1st Thursdays of the Month with

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Hard to believe it but May is upon us!

I want to let you know about a great upcoming event on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo!) for people new to dancing in San Diego and regulars alike.  I host a night on the 1st Thursday of each month at Cafe Sevilla where the idea is to get to know the people you are dancing with early in the night without the loud music and commotion.  The meet and greet runs from the time the club opens through the free dance lesson that is provided and typically begins around 8pm.

Here is some more information on the event if you want to learn more and RSVP (click here).

Hope to see you all at Cafe Sevilla this upcoming May 5th!

Gilberto Santa Rosa Performing Live at Blue Agave Nightclub in February

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Blue Agave Nightclub has a great record of bringing top salsa talent to perform in San Diego and we are lucky once again thanks to their efforts. Gilberto Santa Rosa will be performing live at Blue Agave Nightclub February 19, 2016.

For those of you unfamiliar with Blue Agave Nightclub, the venue gives you a great opportunity to get up close with performers as the dance floor goes right up to the stage.  This makes for a perfect combination of quality live salsa music and ample room to dance.

The San Diego Salsa and Latin Dancing Meetup Group will be in attendance and there is a calendar event with information on how to purchase tickets.

See you all at the Gilberto Santa Rosa concert!
